Georgian Chefs

While Georgia has a solid history in culinary, being a chef as a profession, just started to rise. In the old days, cooking was a must-do for housewives and the restaurants mostly hired people who knew how to cook in their own ways, they were self-made cooks, without any educational background.
It’s only been few years that we recognised “chef” as a modern profession and some culinary schools and cooking TV shows started to emerge simultaneously. We just had our first Bocuse D’or Georgia chefs’ competition, Gault & Millau recently entered our market, Masterchef TV show is on the edge.
Now, Georgia’s restaurant world has brand chefs, chefs, sous chefs and the amount of quality people entering the field are growing rapidly. Foodblog.ge offers stories about Georgian chefs, their first contact to gastronomy, their experiences, inspirations, views, ideas or desires. Once we get to know the creators, we feel more connected to their dishes.
